Praa Sands Cambria quartz sets a sophisticated gray background against streaks of black and aquamarine veining, with splashes of creamy tones and glistening specks that add depth to the surface. The design takes its name from Praa Sands, a beach on the south coast of Cornwall, England, and brings a coastal, natural stone character to modern and transitional kitchens. American-made in Minnesota, Praa Sands is backed by Cambria’s transferable Full Lifetime Warranty. The surface is nonporous, resists stains and scratches, never needs sealing, and comes in a polished or Cambria Matte® finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

expand all answers
  • Yes. Like every Cambria design, Praa Sands is nonporous, resists stains and scratches, and never needs sealing, so daily care is just warm water and a soft cloth, with mild soap if needed. The one thing to watch is heat: the resin binder can be damaged by hot pans, so use a trivet for anything straight off the stove.

  • Praa Sands’ gray base with black, aquamarine, and cream tones works with both cool and warm cabinetry. Cambria’s own design pairing for this color uses dark green Shaker cabinets with soft gray and warm neutral walls. White or light gray cabinets keep the look clean and let the aquamarine veining stand out, while natural wood tones bring out the cream accents.

  • Praa Sands is priced per request, and the final cost depends on thickness, finish, edge profile, and square footage. As a reference point, Cambria quartz countertops generally cost more than granite, around $75 to $110 per square foot. Contact Granite Selection for a Chicago-area estimate.

📏 How to Measure Your Countertop
▼

Choose your countertop shape and measure in inches:

Essential Measurement Tips:
  • Measure in inches: Use a tape measure and record all dimensions in inches for accuracy.
  • Account for overhangs: Standard overhang is 1–1.5 inches beyond cabinet edges.
  • Consider appliances: Measure around cooktops, sinks, and other fixtures that will be cut out.
  • Check for walls: If installing against walls, measure the actual wall length as walls may not be perfectly straight.
  • New construction: If you don't have existing countertops, measure the cabinet boxes and add overhang allowances.

Accurate measurement is the most critical step in your countertop project. Even small errors can result in expensive mistakes, material waste, or ill-fitting slabs. We strongly recommend scheduling a professional template measurement with our team.
