Fortaleza granite pairs a light gray background with dense speckling of beige and black, a low-variation pattern that keeps large kitchens and islands looking consistent. Its soft gray-white palette carries gentle brown and cream undertones, giving it a warmer character than most light gray granites. Quarried in Brazil and also sold as Branco Fortaleza or Brazilian Luna Pearl, Fortaleza comes in a polished finish in 2cm and 3cm slabs. As a natural granite, it handles heat well and stands up to daily use, with periodic sealing to keep it stain resistant.

Frequently Asked Questions

expand all answers
  • Yes. Fortaleza has a light, low-variation pattern and a neutral gray-white palette, so it doesn’t compete with cabinets, backsplash tile, or hardware. That restraint lets it work in modern, transitional, and traditional kitchens alike, and its warm undertones keep it from feeling cold next to wood or cream finishes.

  • Fortaleza’s warm undertones make cream and warm beige cabinets an especially good match. White cabinets keep the kitchen bright and clean, natural wood brings out the beige in the speckling, and darker gray lower cabinets add contrast while the light countertop keeps the room open.

  • Fortaleza is priced per request. The final cost depends on slab thickness, edge profile, the number of sink and cooktop cutouts, and total square footage. Contact Granite Selection for a Chicago-area estimate.

📏 How to Measure Your Countertop
▼

Choose your countertop shape and measure in inches:

Essential Measurement Tips:
  • Measure in inches: Use a tape measure and record all dimensions in inches for accuracy.
  • Account for overhangs: Standard overhang is 1–1.5 inches beyond cabinet edges.
  • Consider appliances: Measure around cooktops, sinks, and other fixtures that will be cut out.
  • Check for walls: If installing against walls, measure the actual wall length as walls may not be perfectly straight.
  • New construction: If you don't have existing countertops, measure the cabinet boxes and add overhang allowances.

Accurate measurement is the most critical step in your countertop project. Even small errors can result in expensive mistakes, material waste, or ill-fitting slabs. We strongly recommend scheduling a professional template measurement with our team.
